PGT-A Testing

A genetic screening process used in combination with IVF to assess embryos for chromosomal abnormalities. This testing identifies embryos that have the correct number of chromosomes, improving the chances of successful implantation and a healthy pregnancy.

How it Works?

Chromosomal Abnormalities Testing

Embryos are screened for an abnormal number of chromosomes (aneuploidies), which can lead to unsuccessful pregnancies, miscarriages, or genetic disorders.

Embryo Sex Screening

PGT-A also offers the option to screen for the sex of the embryo, providing parents the ability to know or select the gender of the embryo before transfer.

Embryo Biopsy

A biopsy is performed on each embryo, where a small sample of cells is taken for genetic testing. This does not harm the embryo but allows for detailed genetic analysis.

Vitrification (Freezing)

After the biopsy, the embryos are frozen using a rapid-freezing technique called vitrification, preserving them for future use while waiting for test results.

Who Should Consider PGT-A Testing?

  • Have experienced recurrent pregnancy loss
  • Are of advanced maternal age, where the risk of chromosomal abnormalities is higher.
  • Have a family history of genetic disorders or chromosomal issues.
  • Want to maximize their chances of a healthy pregnancy through IVF.
  • Are interested in gender selection for family balancing.
